Lakewood, WA to Bellingham, WA – Friday, July 8

(As you can see, I am a few days behind because we did not have internet.  We do now, so enjoy catching up.  Sorry for the 4 entries at a time, shouldn't happen again!)

Great night sleep in a very comfortable bed! Thanks Enstads for hosting us, it was great spending time with your family.
We had our last driving trip in the lower 48 today, a nice 2 hour trip.  We right through downtown Seattle to get to Bellingham.  We arrived in Bellingham with plenty of time to relax and see the town.  After checking in around 11:30, we parked our car second in line in lane four.  We were then able to walk around the beautiful town of Bellingham, eat lunch at a café, and do some great people watching.  The cars began loading at 3:00 p.m., and we were blessed to be the 8th car on! (some people who were there before us, due to their car size, were almost the LAST vehicle on, God is good)  Because of this, we were able to get a tent spot on the second deck.   The views are spectacular.  All we have to do is open our tent window and the mountains are surrounding us!  It take 3 ½ hours to load everyone, so we spent a lot of our time watching and relaxing.  Luckily Jason was able to make several trips down to the car to get our cooler, pillows, and extra clothes.  He had to climb in through the trunk to grab what he needed.  We pray that our new car comes out of that packed parking with NO dents or scratches!  Anyways, now I am just making this post too long, so I will try to bring it to a close.  We made sandwiches and ate in our tent, walked around the boat, played cards, took pictures, met a couple from Hawaii, met a Rabbi from California, and enjoyed God’s beautiful creation.  Then it was off to bed, wishing we had packed an air mattress.  Tomorrow it’s a full day on the water, arriving in Ketchikan on Sunday morning.  Hope to be able to post these up when we stop, but there is no internet on the boat.  You may get all four blogs at one time, sorry.  God bless your weekend!

 A bit of Seattle

Our boat, The Columbia - part of the Alaska Marine Highway System
How we kept our tent from blowing away.  We were told a wind took a tent and 50 lbs. of belongings off the edge once.  Our duct tape held splendously!

A few of the tents on the boat! Ours is that tall white and red one on the left.
We got the LAST spot in this tent area.
What we ate for most meals, to save money! Ham and cheese sandwiches! Yum!

 A great view

  2. So, how do you feel about ham and cheese sandwiches now? When we visit, can we eat some?

Anyway, did you go to Pike Place-the First Starbucks?
